How are we going to make a difference?
With so much damage sustained in the bush fire areas we wanted to help with this special project which is a partnership between How We Roll and One Tree Planted which has a goal to plant 1 million trees across the following regions in 4 years:
Mount Lofty to Kangaroo Island Connection in SA NSW South Coast to Victorian Gippsland Corridor Gondwana Rainforest Heritage area in NSW and Qld and the NSW North Coast.
At this point how many trees have been planted?
The tree planting is a 4 year project with an aim of planting 1 million trees across the bushfire affected areas. As the infrastructure of this area was completely decimated by fires the first year project has been cultivation of seedlings and saplings through 2020 to be planted in 2021.
What kind of trees will be planted?
Are they water dependent and or drought resistant? Can you tell us if the trees are fast growing and will they be deciduous or evergreen?
Some species to be planted are Allocasuarina verticullata, Eucalyptus blakelyi, Eucalyptus bidgesiana, Eucalyptus mannifera ssp, mannifera, Eucalyptus viminalis ssp. Viminaalis
A variety of native trees mostly Eucalyptus which are known for being evergreen and (usually) fast growing. They are also accustomed to the Australian climate so are able to be drought resistant.
